Jiai Aikido was founded in 2003 and for many years has been the home base for many big events that have supported the entire Aikido community. Jiai has been a place of connection for Aikido practitioners worldwide, for many years now. In 2018 Cat Strada Sensei, the owner, launched the San Diego Martial Arts & Community Center, and relaunched the San Diego Systema training program. The facility is also "home" to many other training programs, ranging from dance to combatives, from yoga to sound healing. The instructors and the students have worked diligently at training, and to keep the dojo open, despite rising costs of rent and utilities.
